Our
lunchtime tradition is a compact little example of how we do business:
family style, informal, inclusive, and fun.
We have a fully functional kitchen in our office building, and we put
it to use every day. Around 11:30, Donna Zee, our Office-Manager-Chief-Cook-and-Bottle-Washer,
orchestrates the preparation of our office lunch. The menu is always changing,
some days it's more extravagant than others, but always balanced and healthy,
with a variety of dishes and a little something sweet for dessert.
You never know who you'll meet at the Stanley lunch table: Bruce and Carolyn,
the office staff, subcontractors, customers, suppliers, members of the
Stanley family...they're all likely to be present. Conversation drifts
from topic to topic, but usually winds back around to the construction
project at hand and everyone's contributions to it. In between "please
pass the dressing" and "don't forget to put your plates in the
dishwasher" you'll hear lots of "hey, there's a new change to
the plans for the house..." and "let's talk about the new financing
arrangement..."
It's an informal event, but a very important one. Lots of work gets done,
but more importantly, it keeps us in touch.
You don't find too many offices that combine family and business as constantly
and seamlessly as we do. And our customers fit right into that mix. When
you work with us, you'll feel right at home with us, our crew, and at
our lunch table. Bring your appetite!
